Cllr-Mark-Reddaway

A message from the Mayor of Hatherleigh

Hi – I’m Mark Reddaway, I am actively involved in many community initiatives, activities and events in Hatherleigh. I chaired Hatherleigh Carnival for nearly 20 years, helping to introduce important changes to policing, safety, logistics, and procedures. I was also involved in building numerous family floats. I played rugby for North Tawton and Okehampton first team. More recently, I have taken on a new challenge and am enjoying being one of the bell ringers at St John’s Church here in Hatherleigh. I am also a volunteer with the Christmas Lights team and Hatherleigh Players backstage team, and I continue to support the Tar Barrels teams and Hatherleigh Carnival. I joined the Town council in 2022 and have taken on the role of Mayor since 2024. I am fully committed to helping build the best future for Hatherleigh by embracing change, supporting local businesses and initiatives, improving public services and facilities, and ensuring the town remains inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

Mark Reddaway, Mayor & Chair of Hatherleigh Town Council.
