Community groups and organisations in Hatherleigh can now apply for funding through the Electrical Safety Fund, run by the charity Electrical Safety First.
The fund supports projects that tackle electrical risk in the home – particularly for the most vulnerable households, who often face the greatest danger from electrical fires. Grants can support:
- Product testing, repair and replacement events
- Educational workshops and awareness-raising events
- Home safety installation interventions
Since launching, the fund has already helped reach 490,000 people across the country.
Applications are open from 17 August to 27 September 2026. Local groups, charities and community organisations interested in applying can register via the Electrical Safety Fund’s application portal.
